Preliminary Feasibility Studies

The simplest and fastest way to put a firm foot towards obtaining the benefits of energy efficient lighting is to Contact ECC ! We will respond by conducting a Preliminary Feasibility Study of your existing lighting equipment, environment, and needs, using The Light Tools Lite, which is a rules-based lighting survey tool that resides on a personal data assistant (PDA) computer. While not as thorough as an Investment Grade Lighting Survey, and further, while it is not a tool capable of calculating savings which can be guaranteed, the Feasibility Study is still a valuable and worthwhile tool which can be used to calculate a rough estimate of your facilities' potential energy savings.

Investment Grade Lighting Surveys

ECC has an excellent reputation for producing extremely accurate and detailed reports in a very timely manner that decision makers need, prior to making any lighting upgrade decisions. How can you make a calculated/cost effective decision without them? ECC uses The Light Tools Professional, which is another rules-based lighting survey tool that resides on a PDA computer, to enable its highly skilled lighting professionals to collect accurate and detailed data. The comprehensive surveying process used by ECC's lighting surveyors includes the gathering of the details that are specific to our customers work environments. With the capabilities of the The Light Tools Professional, ECC also has the capabilities to customize recommendation codes and/or collection of specialized data that you as the customer may find useful for your particular project. This surveying process provides for greater detailed and accurate data collection and dissemination, than traditionally used methods. Data is ultimately transformed into meaningful reports and information. Get a good head start on Energy Efficiency. Contact ECC in order to take advantage of our expertise in conducting an Investment Grade Lighting Survey, the foundation of a highly successful lighting efficiency project.

Qualitative Report Features

Following completion of ECC's Professional Lighting Survey, the customer will receive comprehensive reports to enable sound decision making. ECC professionals are always happy to meet with customers to discuss all aspects of their findings, so that the client is left with a good understanding of their existing lighting system and how it could be improved upon. ECC recognizes that every building, every office and every client is different and each has many different lighting needs. At ECC, there is no template applied to everyone, and no cookie cutter approach to lighting efficiency. ECC has the technical capacity, experience, and expertise to find solutions to meet all of their clients lighting needs. ECC can provide simple recommendations for upgrading your lighting system, solve specific lighting problems, implement daylighting and controls in various environments, or provide a complete redesign of lighting systems using the latest technology available.

Developing Company Wide Implementation Programs

Often times companies find it difficult to allocate the resources to survey, specify, and coordinate a company wide lighting efficiency implementation strategy. ECC can help! Using collected survey data, ECC will create and provide easy to understand reports, which will present an accurately detailed snapshot of the state of a company's lighting energy efficiency, specific proposals of how a company can improve its energy efficiency, and scenarios of various implementation paths which meet the company's financial prerequisites. ECC can also advise customers on existing utility sponsored energy efficient incentive programs, where available, which can often reduce costs significantly.

Life Cycle Cost Analysis & Equipment Specification

ECC strives to design systems and specify equipment that results in the lowest life cycle cost. It is important to understand that often systems with the lowest initial cost, are not always the most inexpensive system in the long run. Materially, the total cost of a system includes three components: (a) initial cost, (b) energy cost, and (c) maintenance/replacement cost. For example, lower cost systems typically tend to have shorter lives, and use more energy. Conversely, often systems with a higher initial cost tend to have longer useful lives, and use less energy. When comparing the total system costs of each system in the light of Life Cycle Analysis, less expensive systems normally appear less attractive by virtue of their greater overall cost over their useful life. ECC lighting engineers use Life Cycle Analysis in determining the best and lowest cost lighting system configuration for your business, and, through the use of techniques of Life Cycle Cost Analysis, ECC can help your company realize savings that would otherwise be expended on maintenance labor and materials.
